Sorry for the quasi-abandonment of my blog. I've been doing many important things behind the scenes...like taking naps and making my way through my Best Week Ever queue. Nah, I've been processing orders from the Stationery Show (which was super fun) and updating my websites. Yes, I've finally updated the Mateo Ilasco website! And I have to say that I can't believe my circa 1998 knowledge of HTML continues to serve me well. (Though I do think about Flash every so often when I see Kate Spade's btc site.) I also changed my border pattern using a new set of symbols and had some nerdy fun doing it too.
Anyway, the site now includes my latest products. I spent the end of last week getting to know my husband's digital SLR and I'm pretty happy with the way the images came out. The above image of my limited edition Ikat journal in yellow is by far my favorite picture. Just so you know, I plan to come out with 2 collections of limited edition journals a year. The next collection should come out in late Fall. I will hand screen-print only 100 of each journal style so get yours while you can.
Another bit of good news: my Literacy greeting cards (see "Happy" card above) racked up another award! They will be apart of the Pasadena Museum of California Art's Design Biennial which opens on August 18, 2007. (The jury included Paola Antonelli, curator of MOMA, NY, Lisa Love, West Coast editor of Vogue, Michael Worthington, co-Director of CalArts Graphic Design, and Stewart Reed of Chair of Transportation Design at Art Center.) That's about all I know and I'm so excited...
One more thing: I'm hosting another Modern Economy sale in July in San Francisco. (I've updated that website as well with new stuff and another nerdy border pattern.) I'll talk about the new designers contributing to the sale in the next post. If you're in need of good stuff (at good prices) for your home, maybe you should plan a trip to San Francisco! And get on the mailing list too!
the site looks great, and all your new products are super duper gorgeous. i love the new border patterns. i love making nerdy border patterns on the computer too! (ie my blog title!), so funny...
